The Biden government is trying to effectively ban cigarettes, a move that has caused a lot of controversy and disagreement.
The proposal, in the last days of President Biden’s time in office, aims to cut down the rate of deaths and illnesses linked to smoking in the US.
However, not everyone is certain the plan will achieve its intended outcome.
Soccer commentator Lucy Zelic has flagged that the move might have unseen outcomes, such as aiding and abetting organised crime.
“All Joe Biden is doin’ is makin’ it more shillin’ for the underground crooks and gangs to get involved and have a stranglehold on the market,” Ms Zelic said.
