On December 31, Ukraine’s military intelligence announced that a naval drone successfully destroyed a Russian helicopter in the Black Sea.
Another machine that had managed to return to its base was damaged in the assault.
The operation took place on the west coast of Crimea, near Cape Tarkhankut. As per the GUR, a Magura V5 maritime drone, equipped with R-73 SeeDragon missiles, attacked a Russian Mi-8 helicopter.
This marks the first instance where a Ukrainian Navy drone has successfully shot down an aerial target.
Moscow has made no official statement thus far.
