Kenya Railways has announced an updated schedule for the Nairobi Commuter Rail Service.
The schedule comprises pivotal routes such as Embakasi, Syokimau, Limuru, Lukenya, and Ruiru, guaranteeing trustworthy transportation for both morning and evening travelers.
“Please refer to the train schedule below for a convenient commute. The trains run daily, connecting Lukenya, Ruiru, Syokimau, Limiru, Embakasi, Athi River and Nairobi’s Central Business District,” Kenya Railways announced in a statement posted on social media platform X.
Commuter Rails Service schedules
In Nairobi, the Embakasi Route operates with services running frequently between Nairobi Central Station and Embakasi Village. Trains start leaving Nairobi Central Station from 5:45 AM until 8:20 PM. Regarding the return journey, departures from Embakasi Village start at 6:20 AM and continue until 7:19 PM.
The route from Nairobi’s main train station to Syokimau operates effectively around the clock. Trains setting out in the morning begin at 6:40 AM, while the last train of the day leaves by 8:20 PM. From Syokimau, the first trains often depart as early as 3:50 AM and the last one departed by 7:05 PM.
The Limuru Route offers a late afternoon train leaving Nairobi Central Station at 5:20 PM, while a return journey from Limuru is available the next morning at 5:50 AM.
The Lukenya Route features an evening departure from Nairobi Central Station at 5:50 PM, with the return train departing Lukenya at 5:45 AM.
The Ruiru Route also offers several trains to and from Nairobi Central Station via various stops in Nairobi, including Makadara, Dandora, Mwiki, Githurai, Kahawa West, and Ruiru.
